چکیده
Abstract. A 4-nodes flat shell Finite Element (FE) is formulated on the basis of an assumed interpolation stress and displacement fields in order to perform elastoplastic analysis reinforced concrete structures. The nonlinear material behaviour described through a confinement-sensitive plasticity constitutive model not requiring often difficult calibration several parameters but it expressed terms only uniaxial compressive strength concrete. presence steel reinforcement bars accounted by defining additional layers with von Mises behaviour. These different responses are assembled thickness numerical integration. Computational efficiency accuracy assessed comparing proposed strategy other FE models performing step-by-step analyses test.

An Efficient Strain Based Cylindrical Shell Finite Element
The need for compatibility between degrees of freedom of various elements is a major problem encountered in practice during the modeling of complex structures; the problem is generally solved by an additional rotational degree of freedom [1-3]. This present paper investigates possible improvements to the performances of strain based cylindrical shell finite element [4] by introducing an additio...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Bond for Reinforced Concrete Structures
A high-resolution finite element model is developed using the MSC.Marc software package to investigate local bond behavior and the modeling of this behavior. In the model, interaction between concrete and steel is treated geometrically as contact between two separate bodies. Concrete is modeled as a homogenous material. A multiple, fixed, smeared crack model is used to simulate response in tens...
متن کاملA simple and efficient plasticity-fracture constitutive model for confined concrete
A plasticity-fracture constitutive model is presented for prediction of the behavior of confined plain concrete. A three-parameter yield surface is used to define the elastic limit. Volumetric plastic strain is defined as hardening parameter, which together with a nonlinear plastic potential forms a non-associated flow rule. The use of non-associated flow rule improves the prediction of the dil...
متن کاملFinite element analysis of layered wooden shells under application of an orthotropic single-surface plasticity model
The analysis of layered wooden shells requires a suitable constitutive model for multi-axially loaded wood. In this contribution a brief overview of the development of an orthotropic material model for the simulation of spruce wood under simultaneous biaxial in-plane stresses and transverse shear stresses is given. The model considers an initially linear elastic domain as well as hardening and ...
